Sickness & Movement

On Sunday morning I woke up just feeling awful! I thought about missing church but realized I had way to much to take care of. So I went and felt horrible the entire time. Once church was over, the mothers of the young women and the leaders had to practice a song. While singing at the pulpit I realized I was going to loose my cookies and had to run for it. I barely made it to the bathroom, but luckily did. From that point on I couldn't hold anything down (including liquids) for more than 30 minutes. After about 6 hours of this my doctor told me to go to the emergency room for fear of dehydration. When my mom heard I was in the hospital, she of course jumped in the car and drove over. After a 3 hour visit to the ER and an IV I was headed home for some rest. My mom stayed with me through the night and until 2:00 the next day when I finally was holding things down. The only conclusion anyone could draw was that I got food poisoning or some sort of bug. Either way it was one of the worst 24 hours of my life!

It was so nice having my mom there to take care of me. My husband does a great job at that sort of thing, but it helped that she was there so he could actually get some sleep and make it to work the next day. Alex was the biggest sweet heart through the whole thing. He gave me an amazing priesthood blessing that made me feel much more calm and not as stressed about Zoey's health. He would rub my back while my insides felt like they were being pulled out and then brought me flowers home from work the next day! I don't know what I would do without a great mom and an amazing husband!

You would think nothing positive could come out of this but some actually did. I don't know if the two were related or not but on Tuesday when I was starting to feel better I felt Zoey move for the first time. I thought a few times previous that I had felt her, but now that I know what it feels like I know that before was just gas. I have felt her move several times in that last few days and man it is the coolest thing ever. I guess all that dry heaving woke her up and made her active. I am so happy she is ok and very excited she is making her presence known!!!

Zoey Jo Moon

Alex and I knew what we were going to name our baby no matter what gender it ended up being, but we hadn't discussed how we would spell it. So we made a list of all the options at breakfast the morning we found out. We each took a turn crossing out one we didn't like and the last one on the list would be how we spelt it. The winner was ZOEY!!! We decided that it could never be messed up unlike Zoe (could be pronounced like Joe with a Z) and it just looked the best. Alex made sure to draw it on a napkin as well, to make sure it was fun to draw (that is important to the Moons)! If she ends up being fast her nickname will be Zo Jo, like one of the all time fastest females. I know we are such track nerds!!! So anyways that is her name and that is how we figured out how to spell it. Let us know what you think!

Baby Girl!

Alex and I found out on Tuesday morning that we are going to have a baby girl. Both of us are very excited and glad that she is healthy thus far. The ultrasound was the coolest thing I have ever seen! It was 3D and very detailed. We got to see her opening and closing her mouth and also sticking out her tiny tongue. We saw her heart beating and the blood flowing through it. We also got pictures of her sucking her thumb! I can't stop looking at the pictures and I have already watched the 40 min DVD they gave us of the ultrasound twice. I cant wait to meet her and hold her in my arms. I have never been so excited to be a mom!
