Since the last time I posted was in April, I figured I had better start with an update before I begin daily postings. From April until now we have been very busy. Alex finished his last full quarter of classes and only has a few this summer, which end in July. He has been busy studying hard for his two year comp exam, that he will take on August 13th (keep your fingers crossed)!!! In his spare time he has been riding his road bike and training for the Spokane Falls Mini Track Meets. He managed to compete in the 800 with a time of 2.03 and the 200 with a time of 22.6. Also in his spare time he would hang out with his brother Lindsay as much as possible before he moved to Cali.
In the last few months I have again managed to switch positions and responsibilities at work. I am now doing all of my previous duties plus, the 10th floor receptionist position and all that that entails. I am busy non-stop and really understand now, that there is not enough hours in the day. I have also been very busy with my calling in the Young Women's at church. With church every Wednesday and Sunday and then extra activities on Saturdays it can become a bit much. Luckily I love the girls and enjoy being there for them and spending time with them. In my free time I have been reading the last few books of Harry Potter. They pretty much take over my life until I finish one. I am on the last book and about halfway done (I am sure Alex will be grateful when I am). Also in my spare time I have been using my new Cricut to scrapbook and make cards. Spare time doesn't come often but when it does we both enjoy doing our hobbies.
A few exciting things we have done over the last few months have included:
Making a trip down to Yakima for Memorial Day weekend. While there we went on a hike to Eagles Nest, raced the go carts (I lost), swung on the biggest back yard swing set ever, had a BBQ and played games with close family friends, and hung out with people we love. It was a fantastic weekend!!!
In June we made a trip to Eugene Oregon to watch the Prefontaine Classic. On the way down we stayed with our good friends Derrick and Jamie and had a great time. The next day we finished the long trip and stayed with one of Alex's high school buddies. We attend the meet and watched many American Records broken and many close attempts at world records. We got autographs from some of our idols and got to watch many amazing athletes compete. Overall it was an amazing experience and we cant wait to go to another one.
For Fathers day we went to Lake Roosevelt and camped with my brothers and the Weavers. This is our forth year making this annual camping trip and it has become something we look forward to every year. We had a great time wakebording, playing on the beach, playing games, sitting around the fire, eating, playing frisbee golf, swinging and swimming. We ate some excellent food and gained a lot of weight.
For the 4th of July weekend we spent it with Lindsay and Sommer before they move on Wednesday. Friday we went shooting and then Sommer taught me to read music and play one song on the piano. Later that afternoon we had a BBQ with Sommer's parents and just hung out the rest of the evening. The next day we went to the lake and hung out on the boat. That night we watched the best fire work show we have ever seen and then drove home. The weekend was so relaxing and fun at the same time. We are glad we got to spend Lindsay and Sommer's last weekend in town with them. We are going to miss them so much!!!
Here are some pictures from the above events!
So there it is, our lives for the last few months in a nutshell. We will regularly post from now on and try to keep you updated.
Happy New Year!!
